::::::::::::::RINO CERRONE:::::::::::::::::::
In one of the three days parties, characteristic of the second half of the Nineties for the Neapolitan night clubbers there were many good artists in July 1995. Between these there was a partenopean boy, young, but already full of enthusiasm towards the electronic dance music. That boy was Rino Cerrone, which would have seduced the European and world techno scene in a few years time. At the party it was also guest a duo that performed with a live set in electronic style. Lino Monaco and Nicola Buono had a different approach with the electronic music. Their live sets proposed dreamy and experimental atmospheres. During those parties something happened, and these three artists found themselves in a month playing together at a very famous party in Naples as Q-Men. Rino Cerrone was born in Naples in 1972. His spirit of adventure already brought him in a youth age to take part to the national motorcycle competitions, getting good results. But evidently his objectives went beyond of the motorcycling and his passion for music immediately grew up. It was in fact at the end of the Eighties that Rino started to get in touch with musical reality that have contributed to the formation of his actual style. In the adolescent age he participated to the punk and rock concerts around Italy, and he started to draw near to the underground scene of the social centres. He was fascinated then by new sonorities proposed by groups as Orb and Future Sound Of London,whose dreamy and chill out atmospheres immediately captured his attention, and they increased his curiosity toward electronic music. His first trips to Europe brought him to know new electronic realities and phenomenons of the calibre of Psychicks Warriors ov Gaia, one of the supreme groups of trance music, contributed with their sharp ipno-rhythmical and ipertribal weavings to influence Rino strongly.
While his room was continuing to fill of music Rino started to frequent the first alternative parties that were realised in his region. They were the first nineties, and Naples was promoting a lot of progressive and techno parties, and the first after hours, to which Rino participated with big enthusiasm. Never before then the Italian young people assisted to this type of parties, and every week people was already thinking of that of the following week. Historical Promoter in Naples proposed then already events, where the innovative and quality music was their main objective to reach. They were years of great fervour for the Neapolitan techno scene, and Rino Cerrone was part of that fervour. Rino immediately was entangled in the productive element of the dance music, and soon he purchased his first synth, a second-hand Juno 106. The road toward the productions was undertaken by now, and thanks also to the help of Quietmen, and to his friend and partner for life Mario Manganelli, Rino realized his first small home recording studio. Two years after it was ready their first record as Q-Men, Xphase ep, that went out in 1997 on Design Music, the first label of Marco Carola, then resident in Frankfurt. In the next years followed numerous releases on important labels like the 12 inches on Zenit, and the Kluster ep, always on Design, in 1999. The doors of the music market were open, and Rino started producing records on prestigious labels as Speaker Attack, Phont music, Relentless and Primate. It was then that together with Mario Manganelli he decided to create his own label, the Ri'li:s records. The first two products released on this new label made it soon one of the most famous in the world techno panorama. In the meantime Rino Cerrone gained consents towards Europe thanks to his excellent three decks DJ sets, rich of tribal-tech groove and avant-garde and elegant sonorities. Numerous have also been the remixes realized by this artist, as the famous “Subractive Synthesis VI Remixes”, on the American Synewave. Lately he also remixed some tracks by The Advent for the series of collections of hi-school techno tunes "Recreations vol.I-II” on Kombination Research, and he released a remix for the remixes collection “Introducing My Favourite Recordings” on the german On Off records. The apparitions on compilations and collections are numerous. The most important to mention are “DE 9 Closers to the Edit”, by Richie Hawtin on Minus, that contained, together with other work and loops by Rino, the famous Optical Way, present also on “Relentless Beats vol.1 and 2”, on Vision, for Combined Forces, and on the compilation of Cristian Varela and Tony Verdi – “Salon de Mezclas” for Serial Killer Vinyl. The last two years have seen Rino performing in the world best clubs and festvals. He participated to “I Love Techno” of 2002, and to “Innercity”; the fantastic event organized in Amsterdam in December 21st 2002 by the group of promoters ID ' n T, in the RAI structure. In March 2003 he has been on tour in Japan and South America, and his schedule is always busy. After the true pioneers of techno a few has been the artists that have known really to offer something innovative and of quality in this sector, and Rino Cerrone represents without doubt one of the best examples.
